The Burlington Northern/Santa Fe east-west main line tracks pass through Shelby linking Chicago to Seattle, and Interstate I-15 gives quick access to north and south destinations. Roadrunner Recreation Trail
The trail begins at the intersection of Main Street and Coyote Pass, heading north along Oilfield Avenue. The trail leaves Oilfield at North Lake Sheloole Drive and circumvents Lake Sheloole and continues across the prairies to City Shop Road and back into Shelby. A mid-way loop joins North Park Drive about .50 miles from the City Shop Road. The Roadrunner Recreation Trail is 5.06 miles of paved asphalt with varied degrees of difficulty. It has beautiful views and provides great exercise.
