You may have noticed a new boutique has moved into Spa 30, located downtown Shelby. Farmhouse Rags was founded in Joplin, MT in May 2020. The owners of Farmhouse Rags are Jennifer Van Dessel who was raised on the hi-line and Rachel Ramberg from Power, MT.
Rachel and Jen saw a need for trendy fashion options on the hi-line and decided to start an e-commerce store during the covid pandemic. We wanted to be able to provide cute clothes, locally, with quick shipping and amazing customer service.
“We also wanted to make custom apparel for the local farmers, businesses and schools.”- said Van Dessel. We have a top of the line, latest technology, printer that we’ve worked incredibly hard the last few years to be able to purchase. Our design/creation turnaround time is impeccably quick, compared to similar companies. We pride ourselves on quality work in a short time frame.
During 2020, everyone was geared towards shopping locally. We were blessed to have enough support from our small community that we were able to open a storefront in Chester in October of 2021. Since then, we’ve grown by opening another store front in Shelby and are soon to open in the Mane Concern, located in Cut Bank. We are so excited to be able to provide our small communities on the hi-line with the latest fashion trends and custom apparel.
Thank you, Shelby, for being so welcoming. Please stop in and see our wonderful employee, Lynne, and remember to shop local this holiday season.

For a small community such as Shelby, it's always a welcomed sight to see a new business open up for business in a small community. I realize they have been here now for a few months but I am still excited to give them a feature slot this week! Thank You for being a part of the Shelby community and doing business in Shelby!
One of the early tasks I took on at the Chamber was to work on building connections with the nearby Chamber of Commerce’s where we can work back and forth together. In doing so, I attended a Chamber Board meeting in Chester (Liberty County Chamber of Commerce). That's when I first met one of the owners of Farmhouse Rags, Jennifer as she serves on that Chamber. After the meeting she inquired about membership towards the Shelby Chamber. I went out to my truck, grabbed a membership form. Within a week Farmhouse Rags is a proud member of the Shelby Chamber. Welcome to Shelby and welcome to the Shelby Chamber!
Stopping into Farmhouse Rags is always one of my stops while I'm out hanging up Chamber posters/flyers for upcoming events. Their employee working the Shelby shop is always friendly. If you have not stopped into Farmhouse Rags yet, I recommend stopping in someday to check out their inventory! They will also be open for Shop Small Saturday Nov 25 & for the Christmas Stroll December 3!!
