In 2010 we started raising grass fed beef on the prairie of North Central Montana. We strive to make sure that our animals are treated with respect and get everything they need to live out their lives in comfort and happiness. We are dedicated to our livestock’s well being from the time they are born on our ranch, until the time they leave. Our animals graze lush green grass and cover crops in the summer and eat locally produced, quality hay in the harsher winter months. When we started selling beef, we sold "beef on the hoof", also known as "wholes and halves". We have since expanded our meat sales by offering hamburger and beef by the cut. We carry your common steaks and roasts, as well as hamburger. We are certain that our beef, no matter what the cut, is guaranteed to please any guest you serve.

It's nice having some good options for locally raised Montana beef in the area that you can go purchase here in Shelby & Sunburst. Happy Steer became a member of the chamber this spring, but they have supported the Chamber even before becoming a member. I have asked for small donations in the past on various activities and they always help out whatever cause I am working on to help the community. For example, last fall I needed a small gift for who had the best Scare Zone during the Zombie Fun Run. I received a gift card to use as an award. Thank You for your support! If you're wanting good quality Montana Beef, give Happy Steer a try. Stop on down at the KW Insurance Agency in either Shelby or Sunburst to purchase. The Sunburst location has all cuts, whereas Shelby has a select variety of cuts for purchase.
