The Marias Veterinary Clinic in Shelby was established by Dr. Hardee Clark and has served the City of Shelby & surrounding areas since 1977.  Hardee was raised in the Sweetgrass Hills and graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1977.  Following graduation he and his wife Debbie moved to Shelby.  The clinic was initially set up in the Cinch Ring east of Shelby with the help of Bob Kalbfleisch.  In 1980 Hardee built his clinic in the Shelby Industrial Park.

In 2020 Dr. Kamron Ratzburg joined the clinic moving here with his wife Camille after graduating from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  Kamron also was raised in the Sweetgrass Hills on his family’s ranch.

The Marias Veterinary Clinic provides both small and large animal care.  The clinic's small animal care provides preventative care services (vaccinations & wellness exams), diagnostic testing, surgery and emergency care.  With large animal care we focus on the health and productivity of livestock on farms & ranches as well as equine health.

Every community needs a Veterinary Clinic, no matter if you live in an urban or rural community.  It's great to have Marais Veterinary Clinic here in Shelby offering the service to the ranchers who need the large animal services along with our 4 legged fur babies needing the services they provide as well.

While at the moment I do not have any fur babies to tend too (RIP Zasha), I do plan on getting another German Shepherd hopefully this winter from a trusted friend and breeder.  When I do I'll be going to see the crew at Marias Veterinary Clinic to do the doggie doctoring needed.

The crew at Marias Veterinary Clinic is always very supportive of the Chamber.  One tradition the Clarks have done for many years is support the Pet & Doll Parade by providing ice cream sandwiches to all the kids that day, sponsoring the Chamber Banquet & Main Street Flowers as well!  Thank you for helping and being a part of the great community we call home!

I spoke with Debbie recently about a possible event idea that the Chamber and the Vet Clinic can partner on next year.  I'm excited to work on this idea with the Crew at Marias Veterinary Clinic next year and I'm positive the community will enjoy what this can turn into!
